  * Set up five minutes prior to AOS, set recording to 48khz recording rate, mono.
  * Turn off squelch
  * Hit record
  * Start a two minute timer when I start hearing the transmission, reset when transmission is done and run again so you know when the next transmission will start.

I see some people who like to decode the image in realtime with an app or a laptop. If you're at home, sure, knock yourself out. I prefer to record the audio, and then process the audio on an app afterwards. This way, if there are any noises, I can re-run the app with a few changes to try and get the best image possible.

==== Avoiding Crooked or Noisy Images ====

The biggest tip I can provide from my experience is to **not move the antenna** during the transmission. My cleanest images have been from my car antenna, or moving my Arrow Antenna only twice (AOS heading, midway, and LOS heading).
