Establishing VNC Connections
This page goes into details on how to establish a VNC connection to macOS
Why go into discussion about this?
Most typical Mac users who are connecting to another Mac use Screen Sharing. You check the box under System Preferences → Sharing for Screen Sharing, and boom, you're connected with the right credentials. But, there's more to this if you are trying to remotely (and graphically) access a Mac from Windows or Linux, you may be using antiquated connection protocols, which in a production environment can be insecure to standards.
The legacy way
Allow VNC connections with a remote password. This only allows for an 8 character password.
The easy way
System Preferences → Sharing → Screen Sharing
The professional way
System Preferences → Sharing → Remote Management
